Biography
Yolanda Harris, a native of Oakland, CA, brings nearly 27 years of experience in law enforcement, emergency management, and public safety. She began her career with the Oakland Police Department before joining the CSU East Bay Police Department in 2004, where she served for 15 years in various roles. These included Campus Emergency Management Coordinator, Investigator, Taser Instructor, Field Training Officer, and Active Shooter/Violent Intruder presenter.
In 2019, Yolanda was appointed Director of Public Safety and Emergency Operations at Mills College (now Northeastern University) in Oakland. Most recently, in 2024, she became the Director of Security at Bishop O'Dowd High School. Yolanda holds a degree in Communication with an emphasis in Journalism and Mass Media from CSU East Bay, which has enhanced her ability to communicate and lead in the public safety field effectively.
