Evan Keats has spent the past 20+ years in both emergency services and public safety most recently serving as the spokesman for the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office and the director of the agency’s community affairs bureau. He was responsible for the messaging and public affairs on behalf of the county’s primary law enforcement agency and its 1,200 members.
Biography
Evan served with three law enforcement agencies throughout his career and with the Secure Community Network (SCN), a non-profit homeland security consultation group for the North American Jewish community. Throughout his tenure, he has provided both operational expertise and guidance that have positively impacted both law enforcement and the communities they serve. In 2007, he was recognized as an innovative leader by the International Association of Chief’s of Police (IACP) for his social media ingenuity and integration with local law enforcement’s efforts at the time.
With an extensive background in marketing, advertising and graphic design, Evan has spearheaded the rebranding of several law enforcement agencies and has provided advice and counsel to lead administrative change management throughout his tenure. He holds various awards and recognitions including the FBI-Law Enforcement Executive Development Association’s Media & Public Relations Certificate.
Evan is a graduate of Monmouth University with a degree in marketing and communications. He resides in Lakewood Ranch, Florida with his wife and children.
