Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT)
2 hrs | 4 hrs | 8 hrs
A multi-disciplinary team (MDT) helps detect early indicators of potential disruptive or concerning conduct, self-harm, and violence to others. The team uses an established protocol to support students, classified and certificated staff, communities, and workplaces.
When an MDT gets a report of problematic or concerning behavior, the team determines the best way to support, intervene, and respond. The team then deploys its plan and coordinates a follow-up.
The course itself is based on the practical application of team foundational skills, triaging at-risk behaviors, applying threat and risk assessment, and developing and managing a threat/risk mitigation plan through the application of effective interventions.
